Lodges with hot tubs in [County]
Every park in [County] we’ve reviewed. Private hot tubs, dog policies, drive times from the nearest three cities, and honest verdicts on which lodge suits which household.
Northumberland is the empty-county pick. Fewer parks, fewer visitors, dark-sky designation over Kielder Forest and a coast between Alnmouth and Berwick that rarely fills. Prices sit £150 to £210 a night for a private-tub cabin, £190 to £260 in July and August. 90 minutes from Newcastle, 2 hours 15 from Edinburgh, 3 hours 30 from Leeds. Below, the parks we would drive for.
Three we would book
Kielder Waterside, Kielder. Lakeside lodges on Kielder Water, sleeps 4 to 8, private tub, dark-sky observatory 10 minutes’ drive. Verdict: the county’s flagship, worth the drive from anywhere south of Manchester. Price band £180 to £260 a night. Hot tub Y.
Herding Hill Farm, Haltwhistle. Independent small park on Hadrian’s Wall trail, sleeps 4, private tub on Deluxe grade, dog-friendly. Verdict: the walkers’ pick, wall to the door. Price band £160 to £220 a night. Hot tub Y.
Beadnell Bay Lodges, coast. Sykes-listed cabin cluster 5 minutes from Beadnell beach, sleeps 6, private tub. Verdict: the honest coast pick when the Cornwall drive is too much. Price band £170 to £230 a night. Hot tub Y.
Three tips before you book
Book a February or March week for the dark-sky nights at their clearest. Bring a red-filter torch if you plan to observe. Confirm cabin orientation at Kielder Waterside: lake-view cabins are £30 to £50 more but worth it.
